Eligibility

All current active members and their eligible dependents, in benefit that are under age 80, are eligible for insurance under this plan.

Period of Coverage

You and your dependents are covered while outside Canada for such reasons as business or vacation.  As noted earlier, expected expenses incurred by you or your dependents are not covered in the event that the person incurring the expected expenses had left Canada for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment.
Trips are limited to a maximum of 90 consecutive days.

Termination

Coverage will terminate in accordance with the terms and conditions as set out in the “TERMINATION OF COVERAGE’ provision.

Coordination of Benefits

The total amount payable from all sources may not exceed the expenses you incurred.

Global Excel Management Inc. will coordinate coverages with other policies according to the CLHIA’s Coordinating Coverage Guidelines for Out-Of-Country / Province Health Care Expenses. 

Benefit Amount:

Benefit maximum amounts reduce as follows, effective February 1, 2019:

Under age 75: $5,000,000 lifetime maximum.  
Age 75-80: $1,000,000 lifetime maximum. 
 
Benefit limited to trips of 90 days - Effective January 1, 2015.
Coverage terminates upon attainment of age 80 for eligible memebers and their dependents.
