Bereavement Pay Benefits of $150 per day shall be paid to the Member for a maximum of three days of lost work in relation to the Member’s attendance at a funeral or memorial service upon death of a family member as defined below.

Benefits are payable from the 1st day of lost earnings as a result of the bereavement provided you were actively working at the time the bereavement occurred.

Bereavement Pay Benefits shall only be paid to Members who:

  1. Were employed by a contributing employer to the Trust Fund at the time of the funeral or memorial service and were not reimbursed for the days missed by their employer for lost of wages;
  2. Complete a Declaration form; and
  3. Obtain a letter from the employer to indicate that the Member was absent from work for the days in question and was not reimbursed by the employer for the time lost from work due to bereavement.
